As claims continue to rise each day, the estimated insured losses due to Hurricane Ian are close to $7 billion.
The Florida Office of Insurance Regulation posted data online Friday showing that insured losses were estimated at $6,886,280.085.
As damage continues to be assessed, this number will likely rise. Data also revealed that Friday’s data showed 569,209 claims, an increase of 564,399 claims from Thursday and 553,242 claims on Wednesday.
Friday’s total included 397,823 claims for residential property. Other claims related to commercial property and automobile damage.
Before reaching the state, the Category 4 hurricane struck land Sept. 28 in Lee County and Charlotte counties.
